Happy New Year Park Lodge Dolphins!

We are working hard to prepare all the details for bringing students back on campus. Whether you have selected hybrid, or virtual, we are committed to your student’s academic and social/emotional growth and achievement. We are so proud of the perseverance and resilience that we continue to see from our students, families, and staff. Thank you for your continued effort and support in your student’s education.

Return to Learning/Hybrid
Our anticipated dates for the start of hybrid learning are:

  • Tuesday, February 2 for Kindergarten and 1st grade
  • Thursday, February 4 for 2nd and 3rd grades
  • Friday, February 5 for 4th and 5th

You can expect more specific and communication as we get closer to these dates.

Some things to prepare for:

  1. We will be checking every child’s temperature as they arrive at school.
  2. Masks, social distancing and lots of hand washing will be our plan for students and staff while the pandemic is still a concern.
  3. For now, we regret we will not be able to welcome parents or volunteers into the building.
  4. Breakfast and lunch will be provided in class.
  5. Classrooms will have an assigned section of the playground so student groups will not be mixing.
  6. Students will not change rooms to go to specialist. Instead, the specialist teachers will come to their classrooms. When weather allows, we will take students outside for PE.

Things to think about:
If your child will be coming to hybrid, please plan to send them with a water bottle and a back-up mask that they can keep at school in case the one they are wearing breaks or gets too dirty to use. If they have a small personal hand sanitizer bottle, that would be a great thing for their pocket.

Immunizations

For students who might be coming into the building for in person or hybrid instruction, immunizations need to be up to date.  Students will remain remote if their immunizations are not up to date. Students who will need to have medications at school will need a physician’s order and signatures along with medications before coming back to the building for in-person support and instruction.

We have a lot of change ahead of us! Our Park Lodge teachers and staff are working tirelessly to prepare communication and schedules for students. We appreciate your understanding, patience, and partnership as we continue to prepare for a smooth transition to in-person learning, and continued virtual learning simultaneously.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the front office at 253-583-5350. We are happy to help!
