Principal Message

Angela DeShields

Hello Park Lodge Dolphins!

Welcome to the month of February! The weather continues to be cold and/or wet. Please make sure that your student comes prepared for the weather. We have recess outside unless the weather is extreme. If your student needs a winter coat, please reach out to us.

Inclement Weather

When hazardous weather conditions exist, please listen to the radio or watch the local television stations between 5 and 9 am. The radio and television station will announce scheduled changes for the district. Our district’s name is the Clover Park School District, not Lakewood which is a small district north of Seattle. An announcement will be made through school messenger or can be obtained via the district website https://www.cloverpark.k12.wa.us/ and click on School Delays and Closure icon. When there is no announcement from Clover Park School District, it means that we are moving forward with normal operations.

Employment Opportunities

If you are looking for employment, we would love for you to join our team! Additionally, we desperately need substitutes for teachers, para educators, LPNs and bus drivers. The front page of the CPSD website has more information, including hiring bonuses for hard to fill positions. https://www.cloverpark.k12.wa.us/  Look for “Join Our Team” in the changing slides at the top of the page.

Substitutes

When teachers are absent, your students may report several different people covering their classrooms. In addition to available substitutes, our four intervention teachers are currently the first in line in the event of a classroom teacher absence. After they are utilized, we can use other non-classroom personnel to include our specialists, admin team, and counselor. The entire school needs to be flexible as losing any of these people from their regular role, creates a domino effect that impacts learning routines. Employees from the District Office are also being deployed to support schools. We appreciate everyone who is working diligently to support our school during this challenging time.
