Frequently Asked Questions

How many books may my student check out?

Kindergarteners and 1st graders may check out 1 book each week.

2nd and 3rd graders may check out 2 books a week.

4th and 5th graders may check out 3 books a week.

May my student check out extra books?

Yes. Students may check out more than the book limit with parent permission. Just send a note to school with your student that you would like to have more books for them to read at home.

How often do students use the library?

Students have one 45 minute class scheduled each week where they check out books, listen to stories, conduct research projects, and use the computers. In addition, teachers schedule extra times to use the library's resources for science, social studies, and writing projects.

Which magazines does the library subscribe to?

Discover Kids, Owl, Chickadee, American Girl, Ranger Rick, Sports Illustrated for Kids, and National Geographic Kids.

Which databases does the library subscribe to?

CultureGrams, World Book Online, eLibrary, SIRS Discover, and Type to Learn

Does the library host book fairs?

Yes, the library works with the PTSA to organize 2 Scholastic book fairs a year. The spring book fair is a Buy One Get One Free fair.
