Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall!

Cooler temperatures and rainy weather are on the way! Please make sure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the season, including a warm jacket and weather-appropriate footwear.

Students will continue to have recess outdoors whenever possible. Recess will only be held indoors during severe weather conditions.

Student Drop-Off Zone

To help ensure the safety of all students, please follow these important drop-off and pick-up procedures:

• Students should remain in the vehicle until a staff member signals them to exit or until the designated time displayed on the board.
• Please make sure your child is ready to exit the vehicle as soon as your car comes to a complete stop.
• For safety reasons, students should enter and exit the vehicle from the passenger side (right side) whenever possible.
• When entering the drop-off/pick-up zone, please follow the designated traffic pattern and make left turns only. When exiting, please make right turns only.

Social-Emotional Learning

During the month of October, our Leader in Me focus will be Habit 1: Be Proactive. At Park Lodge, being proactive means taking responsibility for our words, actions, and choices. Students will learn that they have the power to choose their responses and behaviors based on their values and principles rather than their feelings or circumstances.

In our PurposeFull People curriculum, October's character traits are Respect and Responsibility. Students will build skills in perspective-taking, recognizing the strengths and contributions of others, taking ownership of their actions, understanding how their choices affect those around them, and developing flexible thinking.
